"A Confusion of Wildebeest" was taken from an open roof safari vehicle as traveled through the dusty expanse of Masai Mara. The great migration was flowing from Kenya to Tanzania. The plains of Africa were absolutely lousy with wildebeest.
Individually, these animals are not smart. They trundled along, ignorant of our van. When we zoomed alongside them on the road, they'd startle and gallop off for a few dozen yards and then stop, as if they'd forgotten they were running.
Together as a herd, however, they deter predators and collectively find their way to grazing areas and river crossings as they follow the seasonal rains. This wildebeest photo was part of an 8 day safari through the southern region of Kenya. The goal was to see the rich tapestry of African wildlife for myself (and maybe get some wildlife photography along the way!)
Masai Mara National Park was my first stop, and it was filled with wonderful Africa images. Cheetahs hunting gazelle. Lounging lions. Water buffalo and countless birds. And thousands of wildebeest scattered all the way to the horizon in every direction.

What makes a limited edition special, you ask?
All my limited editions represent rare, fleeting moments. They’re also the shots I’m most proud of. They represent the top 0.1% of all the photos I shoot. To reflect that they’re one-of-a-kind, I’m only printing small batch, and that’s it.
Yours will be hand numbered and signed. It also includes a printed and digital certificate of authenticity recorded on the blockchain. You will also get a copy of the bill of sale.
This limited edition includes all sizes and formats. Meaning each print, regardless of size or material, is part of the same run. There is also an artist's proof run of 10.
