The goal was to capture the beauty of our public lands at night. I shot it underneath the Utah night skies during June. I'd had a day of highs and lows. I could tell my camera was on its last legs, it refused to turn on for about thirty minutes while I tried to shoot one of the mountain saddles at dusk. Not an hour before, I'd made it to the top of Angel's landing, a bucket list hike. The canyon stretched out below me, the skies cloudy and moody, creating some incredible lighting conditions. Luckily, my camera decided to cooperate for the rest of the night and until I could make it to a camera store in Vegas to get it replaced.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIn 1919, recognizing the need to preserve this captivating wonderland, the United States designated the area as Mukuntuweap National Monument, later renaming it Zion National Park.
